Tuesday match on October 4 - Scores are up!

We will be having a Tuesday match in October.  Jackalope will be running the match since I will be unavoidably occupied with another errand, but I will try to make it to the range in time to shoot a couple stages!

Any requests as far at stages?  Anyone want to try a split pistol stage in preparation for the TN stage match (where there is going to be one)?

Not a big deal, the one at TN is a shoot 5 and move shoot 5 more so we can still draw GF and shot GF just with a short break in the middle with plenty of opportunity to move with a cocked gun.

OK then, the split pistol is not a popular option.   

Anybody have a favorite sweep? Or one that you would like to practice?  Otherwise I will just have to use my imagination on Sunday!

Tombstone, it has been a long while since I was at Wartrace, but if I remember correctly, the stage with the split pistol has a relatively long distance across a facade between those positions.  Interesting stage to put the split pistol on. Wonder how many GFs will shoot it duelist?

You looked closer than I did, and I dont mind a split every now and then. It is good practice when you go places where they are pretty common. You know, the kind of clubs who dont have GF's around every bend and turn.

I am up for anything. As a new gunfighter, would it not be better to shoot a split stage as double duelist?

Sometimes it's best to go double duelist...sometimes not.  Kind of depends on:

If you have to move a substantial distance....maybe double duelist.

If you move only a step or two...and are careful not to cock for shot 6...maybe gunfighter.

if the first five and second five handgun shots are split but fired from the same location... probably gunfighter...my opinion.

It might also depend on what transition follows...it might be good to have a particular hand empty after the handgun string.

It certainly depends on your comfort level.

Better to try split pistol at a Tuesday match and be ready for the regular monthly match that has split pistols.

I may be mistaken about "The Fort" stage which the split pistol is on at the TN State match.  The drawing looks like perhaps a platform with three shooting locations and not the long facade I was thinking about.  Perhaps it will be just a few steps to move from one side to the other.

How about a stage where we take arrows out of Bob?   Maybe we could put em in a box and shoot a pistol then get another arrow and shoot another pistol😉

Tomorrow we will be shooting on stages 2, 3 and 4.  Please remember not to park in any of the other shooting bays as the rest of the range is still open for ORSA members to shoot.

He said he's planning to surprise us one day pretty soon.

Good match today with quite comfortable weather. 15 Shooters tried they're best but not one shot clean. Thanks Anita for the stages & Jackalope for leading us thru the match. Good luck to those shooting the TN State Match in Wartrace this weekend.
