July 14th Match Predictions

I predict...

1)  Six stages.

2)  It will be a warm one.

3)  We will see how compromise can start a gunfight.

Cant wait, two weeks with out shooting seems like a long time.

I predict hot, hot, hot
Start hydrating Friday and keep on all day Saturday.

I predict someone that made some mistakes will be buying a beer for someone else who did not make as many mistakes.

Warm-up for Black Gold, plan to shoot fast and let the spotters decide what happened.

Last summer,  I tried the rehydrating route on a Friday night with my favorite beer - or several.

As most of you know, my lack luster performance would tend to indicate h2o maybe a better solution.

Either way, let's sweat it out and have good time - as we always seem to do

I was thinking the hydration started after the match on Tuesday.  Asked for water at the Cantina and only got beer.  Even those not fortunate enough to shoot showed up for a round or three.  . But on the serious side water is a better choice.

4)  We will learn that sometimes even asking about chocolate can be unhealthy.

5)  We will see a rifle and handgun knockdown.

6)  We will sweat like blacksmiths.  Except the ladies will glisten.  Glisten like blacksmiths.

So now I have the two German Lady Blacksmiths from Brisco County JR in my head.

I predict...

7)  Stage Three will be "free-style".  You'll have to end with your shotgun, but that's about the only stage instruction.

8 )  Stage Three will be interesting to watch.

9)  We'll hear stories about a cats, candy, a bull, a dog, and falling into a well.  I bet you didn't know that any one of these can start a gunfight.

10)  You will not need a jacket or mittens.

I thought I should clarify something based on a question by someone at the Tuesday match....   

We do NOT shoot the same stages on Tuesday as we do on Saturday.  The target placement is the same (although I have been known to move a target now and then), but the stage instructions and target orders are completely different.  I hope people who have not been to a Tuesday match are not under the impression that the Tuesday shooters are getting to "practice" the same match ahead of time.

So my prediction for Saturday:  There will be no split pistols and no Indiana Sweeps!
