FS Modified Bisley Single Six Hammers
« on: August 10, 2018, 09:25:52 AM »
I have a set of Ruger Single Six Bisley Hammers that have been machined to drop into Single Six revolvers with a "plow handle" grip frame.  The hammers were used for approximately 6 matches before the original owner "retired" from cowboy shooting.

Single Six Bisley hammers themselves are very rare, but even if you can acquire them, they have to modified to function in a plow handle grip frame.  These hammers were machined by James Wade who is well know for working on guns for the NSSA (Civil War competitive shooting).  Curly Bill Kelly removed them from a pair of Single Six .32s that Miss Kitty Kat recently acquired and he remarked that it was some of the best machine work he has seen.

If you want a set of lowered hammers for Ruger Single Six revolvers, these may be just the ticket.  The only other method is to cut up SB hammers and weld the hammer spurs onto regular Single Six hammers.

I'm asking $200 for the pair.  According to my favorite gunsmith, the machine work alone would cost you at least that much and that doesn't include the price of the hammers, if you can find them.

I can send you pictures if you like.  I wanted to list them locally before I put them on the national wire.
