Shotgun Slide

Tombstone and others interested
here is a link to where I got my shotgun slide with the bullet loops. http://www.cowboyactionleather.com/product/SS01
Page 4 of the shooters handbook is petty clear "Rifle/Revolver loops cannot be affixed to shotgun loops."
I sent them an email asking if anyone had brought this to their attention. Will post if I get a reply.

Your link does not work, it looks like it has been posted twice.
I did go to the website and took a look. That is a shame but it is not the first time I have seen manufacturers state something was SASS legal when it was not. I have seen shoulder rigs posted as legal when they were not, bandoleers that tied down that claimed SASS approval and the worst was the Henry Big Boy. They were selling it as SASS approved and were even advertising in the Cowboy Chronicle two years before it got approval.

Link should work now.
Got my reply to email. Was there a rule change?

I recently became aware of the new rule.  The way I now read it, pistol loops should not be affixed to the Shotgun loops.  If you are going to be competing in SASS championships, it would be best to remove them.  It would be simply to use snips to remove the studs.4

Things change at SASS so it’s often hard to keep up with designs.  I’m sorry for the issues.

Thanks,

As far as my memory goes (that not saying much) that has always been a rule. We seem to be loosening the rules not tightening them up. The loops on the holsters were not allowed back in the early days. But I don't remember the pistol loops on SG slide ever coming up.
