Any Requests?
« on: August 27, 2021, 08:39:15 AM »
Does anyone have any particular requests for the September match?

Props?  There are plenty to choose from...dynamite, playing cards, dolls, crows, stick horses, jail keys, and who knows what else.

Rifle/handgun knockdowns?

Stand and deliver or lots of movement?

Split handguns?

Reloads?

Let's hear some ideas!

Rifle knockdowns don't scare me. As a gunfighter my official position on split pistols is heck no but a little practice might stop me from trying to wring out that magical 6th shot from my left pistol. Cooler weather is always welcome.

Texas Star?  Or is it still too warm to be standing in the sun resetting it?

Howdy,

Keep in mind that in September folks heading to the Tennessee State Match & Southeastern Regional will be tuning up themselves and equipment for those competitions. Might be good to offer stages that will be closer to those expected at Wartrace & North Alabama Regulators. I haven't shot at either place recently but perhaps those that have can provide some guidance.

Couple of ideas
Different sweeps combining rife and pistol targets, 1892 sweep or 1874 sweep.
TN State had a stage last year 5 targets 2,3,4,5,6 sweep.

We haven't had vertically staged long guns for a long time.  Good idea!

Cooler weather?  Not usually within my span of influence, but I'll see what can be done.

Dunno about that Texas star.  What do the rest of you think?

Let's hear what you would like to see.

Howdy,

Vertical staging was problematic and has been virtually eliminated at East TN shoots. After some mishaps where firearms ended up on the ground and with the difficulty of staging & retrieving a double barrel compared to a 97, props designed for vertical staging disappeared. Personally, good riddance!
