It's almost time to put together some stages for February.  Is there anything in particular you would like to see?

How about shotgun targets aligned so as to allow the possibility of knocking two down with each shot.
Pistol & rifle knockdowns.
Optional rifle bonus/challenge target requiring reload on the clock.
A pistol reload.
A warm sunny calm dry day.

Since I wont be able to attend this month due to the Kowboys for Kids we do each year I wrote some of my thoughts with apologies to anyone who ever sang "A Few of My Favorite Things"


Targets that ring out when struck in the center
Rifles that run as fast as you pull the trigger
Targets that fall, targets that fly,
targets that are bigger than the moon in the sky.

Pistols that are split, pistols together
Pistols that start out staged or in leather
Stages that stand still and stages that run
Getting to shoot with my favorite guns

When the steel wont ring,
and the P's they sting
and Im feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite stage and then I dont feel so bad.

This morning I'm enjoying your poem, Tombstone.

So far, it looks like six stages on a warm, sunny February day, complete with reloads, a bonus and rifle/pistol knockdowns all based on the musical, The Sound of Music with starting lines sung in your best Julie Andrews voice.

Is that about right?

it's obvious that this has gone a little sideways.  Let's focus and consider our situation.  For our shooting match, the Sound of Music is out and Dr. Suess will not be a good fit.  Mac, Earl and some of their significant others will be involved in disputes over various issues that arise every year around Valentine's Day.  So, if you want poetry, maybe something by Poe would be more suitable?  What do you think?  Maybe Stephen King?

I really dont have any input to help. I will not be able to attend either match this month. Hope I can get back to what passes as normal next month.
