Starter Guns
« on: May 27, 2018, 10:24:33 AM »
I picked up a pair of Uberti pistols at the GA match for a good price. I would like to offer them to someone trying to get started shooting SASS.
I made a mistake the barrels are 4 3/4 inch not 5.5

45 LC
4.75 Barrels
Blued
Dont know what has been done to them but they feel pretty good and has two sets of grips

$700 for the pair.

Send a PM if interested or post here.

Can you tell me the grip style and width? Also do these have the Super Blackhawk hammer?

Sam,

Most Ubertis come with a Colt style plow-handle grip frame (similar in size to a Ruger NM Vaquero).  They will not take a Ruger SB hammer.

Uberti does make a lower hammer that can be installed, but they are about twice the price of Ruger hammer and, in most cases, they need to be fitted by a gunsmith.

Thanks Mongo, I was going to say no to both but I will bring them with me to the next match. Maybe Tuesday for a little while.

Gunfighter style grips but there are two different sets.

Be careful about replacing the hammers on Ubertis. They came out with a new retractable firing pin. When I asked about replacing the hammers on my Smoke Wagons  i was told i would also have to replace the trigger assembly because of this.  :-\

FWIW...

I've been shooting a pair of "starter" guns just like these for about 15 years.

This is a good deal!

I still have these guns, we used them at the event last weekend. They look great and shoot well. If anyone is interested in getting started in Cowboy Action Shooting these would be a great way to start without breaking the bank.

call if you are interested

They are. Let me know if you would like to give them a try. I plan to be at set-up on Sunday. I will not be able to make the Saturday shoot but I can arrange to have them there if that would be better.
