In Search of a Flintlock Rifle

He knows of a once a year classic shoot and  Rendezvous  Up in Friendship Indiana where all levels of Firearmes are available. He use to be part of the Leatherstocking group. Howdy Jackalope, Preacher Red made a flintlock for me last year.  I took to Cactus's and shot it recently for the first time.. what a BLAST!!  Preacher Red has a good knowledge of flintlocks and has friend who use to make them.  Preacher has a good source  for guns also.  You can call him at home 705-8871

I recommend a swamped barrel 45 with a chambers lock. Mine was made by Lonnie McMillan over in Maryville and it has been a reliable shooter out to 100 yards with a patched 440 ball

Also you can shoot it with 3f in the pan and in the chamber   He crowned the barrel so you dont need a starter as they were not traditional anyway
